In maybe stark contrast to another particular Ridiculous Purchase, I've ordered a new Tablet PC today, the Fujitsu P1610. Details were out on it a while ago, and it became officially available for purchase today. I had and liked the previous model, the P1510, which I sold after the new model was first shown. Essentially, I'm paying a small premium to upgrade to the newer model. (Well, not-so-small premium in this case, since the bump to 1GB of ram from 512MB costs $520.) I also managed to snag a 10% off first purchase coupon for small business from a previous promotion. Hopefully they won't care or mind that I'm not actually a small business at this time.
Anyway, the thing ships on 11/10, so I'll probably have it by 11/15 or 11/16. I'll post first impressions after a couple days, and unboxing pictures if I decide to actually take some photos when it gets here. Tablet PCs aren't crazy ridiculous, right? (Compared to an Alienware?)
