What is your favorite kind of bagel and what do you put on it?
Submitted by Nacwolin.
Living in the Lower East Side has it's perks. One of them is that Kossar's Bialys which is just a few minutes away. Why have a bagel when you can have a bialy? Bialys are crustier, chewier, and tastier then bagels. I've been eating bialys since high school, after a teacher bought us on a mini-field-trip to Kossar's. A lot of delis in NYC have 'em too, and I often get my breakfast sandwiches made with them, typically being: fried egg, tomato and swiss on a bialy. Yum!
What's something you bought, knowing it was a total waste of money?
I ended up buying a Playstation 3 the other day. :-( Just needed to get a first-gen model in case they (being the hackers) find any exploits (or make a modchip) for the thing to pirate games with. Which might not even happen... but, I didn't want to end up getting screwed by a motherboard revision later on... It's still sitting in the box... Heck, I don't even plan on buying any movies for it either, since, I have a bit of a personal preference for HD-DVD.
Oh well. Maybe I can make up for it by linking to The Sony Boycott Blog.
What were your top 5 TV shows of 2006?
How do you take your tea or coffee?
Submitted by Vasquez.
I don't really drink coffee. When I do it's typically decaf, iced, black, no sugar. At Starbucks I typically get a Chai Latte or a Chai Cream Frappucino.
Although, I've been known to do 20+ shots of espresso when doing extended shifts though. Pretty much always freaks out the baristas. Especially at airports, where I use the flight as an excuse to order insane numbers of shots.
I also once ordered a hundred solo espressos for an occasion. Please don't ask about it.
Do you have a nervous habit?

I check my work email on my phone *every* *three* *minutes*.
Oh, look, it's 2 AM. Goddamnit.
Where do you do your online shopping?
amazon.com (my amazon visa card is absolutely worthless though), bn.com (with a culmulative 19% base discount), newegg.com, rightstuf.com (up to 50% off anime/manga with their occasional mailing list specials), etsy.com, delivery.com (I've spent a few thousand dollars here).
What is your favorite board game?

Die Siedler von Catan aka The Settlers of Catan, and it's many expansions, including the random german siedler books that I've picked up.
Finish this sentence: "What in the world was I thinking when I...?"

What in the world was I thinking when I started this blog? Damnit. Anyway...
Via the rumor mill, at the water-coolor-slash-vending-machine-slash-pantry, I've heard that the entire facilities staff was being fired, and that the building was hiring a new company to handle facilities, and they the former employees would have to interview with the new company to see if they can keep their jobs. Which is complete crap. Maintenance on our Air Conditioners, UPS, and Generators are all handled by facilities, which might make my life difficult if the staff that I know are all replaced. Ugh.
Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?
Submitted by elen.
Most of the hits for 'yeoz' are me, so I'm happy with google. My real first name + middle initial + last name only brings up copies of a usenet post I made years ago, but, at least it's me and not some evil clone, so that makes me happy. First name + last name brings up squat though. Non-google search engines are not so nice though. :(
(edit: middle initial. middle!)
What are you thankful for?
Four Day Weekends, although, I'll probably be wasting this one. Maybe I should use up my vacation days on another one before they expire.
Spent this Thanksgiving at relatives. Bought along the Wii hoping to show it off to the kids. But, first thing that happened upon arrival was me getting asked to look at the family computer while I was there. Heavily spyware/malware/worm/whatever infested, and of course, I was totally unprepared without any of my usual stuff. So, I downloaded spybot and ad-aware, installed them, updated, and rebooted into safe mode. Ran 'em, and they both found things they both couldn't remove without rebooting, because they were still in memory, even while in safe mode (!). Rebooted again, tried again, no luck. Ok, I really wish I had bought along a boot cd or something. I started manually setting permissions to deny read/write access to all the files and registry entries that were found. Rebooted, deleted some files manually, rebooted, scanned again, and, there was new stuff. Ugh. That's about when I gave up, since it was time for dinner. The system was at least (just barely) usable now, but, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do a clean reinstall sooner or later. (edit: no, I'm not going to get them to switch to a Mac.)
Oh, and the parents didn't want me to show the kids the Wii, because they didn't want the kids asking them to buy one.
